News::This Is What Star Citizen's Planets Will Look Like

News::Styx: Master of Shadows Review | WGTC

Eric from We Got This Covered wrote: Fans of traditional stealth-based games have had a rough go of it over the past few years. Genre stalwarts such as Splinter Cell and Hitman have embraced more action-oriented gameplay, while former critical darling Thief returned with a flop earlier this year. This has left developers such as Arkane Studios (Dishonored) and The Creative Assembly (Alien: Isolation) with the opportunity to pick up the slack. Another developer, Cyanide Studios, is now looking to make a name for themselves in the genre with their latest effort, Styx: Master of Shadows.

News::Why Telltales The Walking Dead Is Better Than The TV Show

Richard Bailey Jr. of The Koalition writes: When Robert Kirkman took on the task of creating an intriguing black-and-white comic book series centered on the aftermath of a zombie apocalypse, he effectively succeeded in making an emotionally gripping storyline about humanity filled with drama, unforgiving violence and suspense. Amazingly enough, what started out as strictly a comic series eventually blossomed into several video game and TV show adaptations.

News::The Evil Within Review | ThisGenGaming

TGG: In The Evil Within you play as Detective Sebastian Castellanos who, along with other detectives, was investigating a murder. During the investigation it becomes clear that this is not any old murder case, and that something very wrong was happening. This leads to Sebastian being knocked out, and wakes up dangling upside down next to dead bodies. Then a few moments later, I got my head cut off after being caught by some big monster type enemy. Little did I know, that would end up being one of many, many times I would die in this brutally challenging game.

News::'Alien: Isolation' review: Almost as frustrating as it is scary | Edmonton Sun

Alien: Isolation is a rarity in video games. Not because its based on the long-running Alien franchise there have been many Alien games over the years, a lot of them quite crappy but because of how faithfully it tries to respect and replicate what made the original Alien film so special. Unfortunately, the patience required to extract that essence might be too much for some players to bear.

News::A Golden Wake Review | Front Towards Gamer

Early 1920s Florida. To be precise, Coral Gables, Florida. Back then, it was an up-and-coming housing town with people buying real estate left and right, creating the real estate boom that would last until October of 1929, when the stock market crashed. If you worked in real estate, chances are you made a lot of money. This is essentially the premise of A Golden Wake, a point and click game that puts you in the shoes of a real estate salesman during that time and place. While that does seem interesting, the game isnt interesting.

Analog Addiction writes, "Some three years after the release of F.E.A.R. 3 (2011), Korean based studio Inplay Interactive and publisher Aeria Games are bringing the series back. However, rather than being a paid console and PC title, their game, F.E.A.R. Online, will be a free-to-play PC only title. The game runs on an updated version of the Lithtech Jupiter EX engine, last seen in Gotham City Imposters, and utilises the source code from F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin. Analog Addiction was given a chance to try the game before its Open Beta launched on October 8. Here are our thoughts."

Avoiderdragon: When Aliens: Colonial Marines was released, it made for some really tough times for Sega and Gearbox Software, the latter of which wasnt doing too badly anyway since they have their Borderlands franchise to fall back on. What a lot of people didnt know until much later is that there was another Alien game in the works, and it has now been released.

News::The Co-op Podcast #94: Will Ubisoft Lock The Far Cry 4 Resolution?

Gary Swaby of The Koalition writes: Controversy has struck again in the gaming industry, and it has lead to many gamers showing their ignorance for resolution and performance. Earlier in the week it came out that Ubisoft has capped the resolution of Assassins Creed: Unity to 900p/30fps on both the Xbox One and Playstation 4. It was also hinted that this was done to be fair to gamers on both platform, so one version doesnt run better than the other. Ubisoft has since done damage control, stating that 30fps is more cinematic. Whatever their intention was, should Ubisoft have just not said a word? Will they do the same with Far Cry 4? We discuss it on the show.
